Jesus said in Matthew 6:24, "Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Money itself is morally neutral — it is the love of money that is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10).

Be content. Hebrews 13:5 says be content with such things as ye have. Avoid unnecessary debt. Proverbs 22:7 warns the borrower is servant to the lender. Plan wisely. Proverbs 21:5 teaches the plans of the diligent lead to profit. Give generously. Proverbs 3:9 instructs us to honour the Lord with our substance and firstfruits. Save for the future. Proverbs 6:6-8 points to the ant that stores provisions wisely. Provide for your family. 1 Timothy 5:8 says anyone who does not provide for his own has denied the faith.
